Universal Patinas |
|
| Universal Patinas may be used on any type of metal as well as the Metal Coatings. They are non-acid, non-reactive, and slightly opaque patinas. They can be blended or layered with each other to achieve different colors. Apply the Universal Patinas over a traditional patina to add to or enhance its color. They may be applied using a hot or cold technique and may be reapplied to darken or burnish back and lighten. Colors below are for general reference only and may not accurately represent the exact patina color. | |

Traditional Patinas |
|
| Traditional Patinas are a mixture of chemicals that react with the surface of metals to create different colors. All of these patinas contain acids - most will cause rust on Iron and Steel. Traditional patinas will vary in color with different metals, humidity, temperature and type of surface preparation. Blue and Green Traditional Patinas may be used on Bronze, Copper or the Metal Coatings. | Color chart for Special Patinas (click for detail). |
| The Japanese Brown and Darkening Patinas are great on iron and steel. These patinas age or darken the metal. They are mostly always transparent. These patinas look great on their own, but may also be used as a base layer for other patinas. Colors below are for general reference only and may not accurately represent the exact patina color. | |
| Tiffany Green - Tiffany Green is a cold patina for bronze, brass, and copper. It may be used both indoors and outdoors. If used outdoors, Tiffany Green should be applied in the shade. Once the patina has developed it may be placed in full sun. Tiffany Green will create a bright orange rust on iron and steel. | |||||||||||||||||||||||

| Mahogany Patina - Mahogany is a patina best used on copper. When used on a polished surface, a beautiful transparent brown patina will form with swirls of color. On a non-polished surface, a nice brown will appear. On bronze or brass, this patina turns a nice brown. Mahogany works well as a base patina under traditional greens or blues as it will make these colors more vibrant. In addition, Mahogany is one of the few patinas that will react with stainless steel, resulting in a gray color. | |||||||||||||||||||

| Darkening Patina - Darkening patina is great for aging or darkening the Metal Coatings or cold cast/resin materials, yet it will darken all other metals as well. This patina will create a beautiful transparent brown on iron and steel. | |||||||||||||||

Vista Patinas |
|
| Vista patinas are a two part patina (acid and pigment color) combined in one solution. First, a traditional acid-base patina reacts with the metal to produce a beautiful green on bronze, brass and copper or an exquisite rust on iron and steel. Then, colored oxides are added to this base resulting in a unique marbled patina. Colors below are for general reference only and may not accurately represent the exact patina color. | |

Dye Oxide Patinas |
|
| The water based (non-acid) Dye Oxide Patinas are very versatile. They are a cross between the Solvent Base Dyes and a patina. All of the colors are transparent and may be blended or layered together to achieve any color you want. They may be applied over any metal or any other patina solution while it is wet or dry to alter the color. The Dye Oxides can also be added to the patina before application or directly applied over Metal Coatings. Colors below are for general reference only and may not accurately represent the exact patina color. | |
