Woodcarving with Bob Yorburg
Bob Yorburg will be teaching the art of sculpting in wood. Students will be introduced to carving and design through classic European techniques. Starting with chip carving which only requires one knife, the elements of carving will be revealed. Students will then have the opportunity to explore the worlds of carousel carving, acanthus and ornamental carving as well as lettering and sculptural pieces. Class will include hands on work proceeded by lecture and demonstration. Students will learn the proper handling of tools including sharpening, care and maintenance. Some of the projects are from Bob's forthcoming book. Teaching is customized to suit student’s ability level. All levels of skill are more than welcome.

Stone Carving with Steve Shaheen
Learn to sculpt stone with New York artist and expert stone carver Stephen Shaheen. Whether using manual or pneumatic techniques, abstract or realism, both beginners and advanced students will be guided through projects that best meet their individual aesthetic goals and technical capabilities. Shaheen will additionally offer a series of Weekend Seminars in specialized topics, such as Direct Carving, the Pointing System, Enlargement with Calipers, and Carving the Human Figure. Open to all levels of sculptors interested in carving in stone.
Students will choose their stone as recommended by instructor, after project ideas have been discussed.

Clay Studio with Carter Jones
This studio class is open to all levels. From the complete beginner who needs to learn the basics of traditional sculpture, from armature building, to clay modeling, to molding & casting. It's also for advanced sculptors who need Carter's fully equipped, well-ventilated shop and art library, as well as being in a creative environment where they will be surrounded by many on-going projects in diverse stages of completion.

Stone Carving with Ailene Fields
Basic and advanced techniques of direct stone carving - initial roughing out, developing a form, final finishing and polishing are presented. There is a choice of softer stone or marble. Hand and pneumatic tools are both covered. Participants should end the course with the basic knowledge necessary to work on their own. Instruction is individually oriented so that all levels of experience will benefit from this great opportunity. Students will choose the subject matter of their sculpture and learn to find what’s in the stone.

Wood Carving with Ailene Fields
Gain knowledge of the diversity of carving woods available and develop or increase your carving skills in this monthly wood carving class. This class will give students the knowledge and ability to achieve the right feel and look that you want for your sculpture and will cover different carving techniques including roughing out the basic form, detailing with finer chisels and rasps, sanding, finishing and mounting methods. Individual instruction is geared toward creativity - making this class is open to all levels of sculptors. Students will choose the subject matter of their sculpture and with instruction from Ms. Fields will learn the basics to the specifics of wood carving. All levels of skill are more than welcome.
